Weekend Days
This past weekend was spent doing all things Halloweenie. If you follow me on instagram (username: thedailyjulie), you’ve probably seen most of these pictures, but I figured I’d give ‘em a go here since I know some of you (hi, Gram! hi, Mom!) aren’t on Instagram.
On Friday night, my friend Amanda hosted her annual pumpkin carving extravaganza. Amanda will be living in California this time last next year. wah.

It was way harder than it looks. I’m glad I went with the design I went with, but my hand was so sore when I was done. The neighborhood kids better like it, dammit.
I went over to my parents house this weekend, and they really went all out with their Halloween decor this year. They left no spot in the front yard unturned.
On Sunday, our street had it’s annual block party. Since it was so close to Halloween this year, I made some eyeballs.
Basically, they are peanut butter balls (peanut butter and powdered sugar) and then instead of dipping them in regular chocolate, I dipped them in white chocolate. Before the chocolate cooled, I made bloodshot squiggles with red food coloring and a toothpick. Then, I plopped on a gummy lifesaver with a chocolate chip in the middle to complete the effect. There weren’t any left at the end of the party which is always a good sign, and the kids especially LOVED them.
I also became besties with leggings. I mean, leggings and I have always been on good terms but with this burgeoning belly, I really ought to buy some stock in lulu lemon. (complete outfit details: leggings: Lulu Lemon // boots: Steve Madden // top: H&M // necklace : House of Harlow)
