My indie design company Omni Systems Limited was created for many reasons, but partly because I have always felt inspired by magazines like OMNI, that used to offer a strange mix of Science, Science Fiction, Hokum, and Art. A while ago I bought a run of the first 8 years or so, and I still read them all the time to get ideas and just marvel at the retro cool and genuine thought provoking content.
There was a time in the 70s and 80s when technology felt full of promise and sense of wonder. (Something that I still regularly look for in my own work.)
