Fall Children

I haven’t updated for awhile, so I wanted to share what Unique Techniques has been up to as of late:

In March 2012, I shot and directed a video for “Micheal” by Seattle-based emcee Sadistik. We had never worked together before, and basically met when he showed up to crash at my loft for the weekend while we shot. I’m really proud of how this turned out, especially since it’s the last project I shot with my Canon t2i: In May 2012, I shot and directed a video with Kristoff Krane, for the self-titled song on his latest record, “fanfaronade”. I was excited to help show the world a side of Chris his friends know and love, but might not always translate through his dense wordplay and intense presence. This was the first project I shot with my Canon 5d mkII, now I fall in love with footage all over again nearly every time I watch it:

In July 2012, I went to Thailand for a few months. I needed to close a chapter in my life in which I had found myself playing victim to my own insecurities and vices. Traveling alone is a magnificently freeing experience, and it taught me much about experience, perception and, indeed, the nature of my self. While I was there, I made every attempt to learn how to love being alone and found I have a long ways to go. I took this photo my last night in Phuket, before I headed to Chiang Mai.
