先月、福井に出張したときのこと。とある寄合に出席していたところ、知人に福井神社にはもう行ったよねと、スマホの写真を見せられながら問われた。これは見ておかねばならない物件だよなあと思い、大いに悩んだ末に寄合を中座して現地に急行した。この神社の建物は全てコンクリートの柱と梁で構成されており、水平と垂直がいちいちビシッと決められている。装飾性はほとんど認められない。大鳥居に至っては、見たことのないプロポーションと形態である。自分の中の神社像を軽々と凌駕してしまい、おろおろと途方に暮れた。こうした…
