A life update because I refuse to let this Tumblr turn into a list of clips and Instagrams:
+ LIFE IS GOOD AND BUSY. Gearing up for the second half of festival season. Finalizing trips to New England and Europe (!!!) in the coming weeks. I finally got to visit my parents for the first time in months and Karen and I are heading up to Maine again next weekend to fill up the car with strawberry moonshine from the New Hampshire Liquor Store, nautical paraphernalia and antique jewelry. Looking forward to three whole days of night swimming, bonfires, drive-in movies and lobster.
+ I really love the new King Tuff record and the Lucero live record is fantastic as well. Cannot wait for Newport Folk. (Ain’t news, I know.)
+ My college roommate, Becca, is in New York for the summer for her residency because she’s all smart and learning how to birth babies and be an OBGYN dynamo and such, and we spent the afternoon drinking Fernet and cokes in Shawn’s beautiful backyard and cheering on La Albiceleste. Argentina lost, which was an immense bummer–I CANNOT HANDLE MASCHERANO TEARS–but I missed that goofy lady and all the snort-laughs that come along with her, because few things are more cheerful than catching up with old friends that are always down for a solid belly laugh.
+ I’ve fallen back in love with farmers markets and just realized I haven’t done any food shopping whatsoever for the week ahead WUPS
+ Boys. Sigh.
+ So I have Roberto Bolaño’s 2666 in Spanish and English; I’m going to read the English copy first and the the Spanish, because despite conversational fluency, I’m sure as hell not fluent anymore and that makes me terribly sad. Time to fix that. I may even spring for Rosetta Stone because that’s cheaper than moving back to Buenos Aires. Who knows.
+ Plans are in place to spend New Year’s Eve in AUSTRALIA. I hope those plans actually come to fruition and that the flight from New York to Sydney drops about ohhh a grand.
+ I hate saying “THINGS ARE REALLY GREAT RIGHT NOW!” aloud because I don’t want to jinx it as I always seem to jinx it, but hey: things are really great right now.
