OOTD 7.19.2012 :: Developing Pattern

A recent jaunt up to Midtown yielded the perfect OOTD photo op and the opportunity for every blogger’s favorite activity: wall hugging.

Pattern Week (and a half) comes to a close with one final OOTD, kindly taken by a couple of my friends one evening last week. Earlier in the week I’d seen this amazing new wall inside the 5th Ave/51st St E/M subway station and I knew just the outfit I wanted to snap in front of it. All over the city the subway stations have beautiful art installations (find out more here and here)  – it’s great to travel in such beauty, though not every station is pretty right now. The wall here isn’t quite done yet but it seemed too tempting a spot to pass up.

And so we have both some outfit pattern mixing and some architectural pattern mixing too. While in the station my friends were playing around with the aperture settings on my camera which yielded some cool, ghostly shots. Just some friends having fun in NYC! As for my outfit itself, it’s a mix of large-scale (the skirt) and medium (the top) which combine in a vertical line dance of sorts. Granted my waist could use some more definition here but I wanted something airy and cool and this look fit the bill. A pop of color from the bag finishes things off nicely.
