The cost of living in Manhattan is about twice what it was for us before we moved. Rent, groceries, utilities, movies, etc… TWICE. And I always think that way before I buy something. “I’d better like this movie because I’m paying for it twice.” or “This toilet paper had better be super soft because I’m paying for it twice.” Cheap clothes don’t have sales tax though, which is nice.
