Who says the Romney campaign is boring? The house band at his Super Tuesday election night rally in Boston just played “Poison” by Bel Biv Davoe. And, yeah, I almost fell out of my seat in shock (and delight). “Never trust a big butt and a smile…”
Today, I am parked in Akron, Ohio, where Mitt Romney is set to campaign later today. Akron is, of course, the former home of The Black Keys, a band that has made many appearances on my campaign 2012 playlist. For your viewing/listening pleasure today: “I Got Mine” from their excellent album, “Attack and Release”
You can’t go to Atlanta, where Mitt Romney is campaigning today, without listening to “B.O.B.” by Outkast–especially around the 1:50 mark. (Bonus Georgia cuts: “Southern Hospitality” by Ludacris and “Private Idaho” by The B-52’s.)
A friend introduced me to the Heartless Bastards, a band formed in Cincinnati (where Mitt Romney is campaigning tonight) that is now based in glorious Austin, Texas. “The Arrow Killed the Beast” is off their latest album, “Arrow.”
