The Bible predicted some scientific facts long before people knew about it?

Theists will sometimes proclaim that the bible demonstrates knowledge of some scientific fact long before people actually knew this fact and that this therefore proves the divine nature of the bible. This is similar to the biblical prophecies concept but is different since it deals with common facts (science) rather than with the supernatural. This argument isn’t convincing for a number of reasons.

Science Confirms the Bible is a short poster full of imagined “proofs” that the Bible is scientifically accurate. In an effort to show this it quote mines the Bible and then compares what it says to science “now” and “then”. The intended effect is to demonstrate that the Bible was right long before science was while, in fact, the Bible is rife with scientific error.

It is a part of Evidence Bible, a website and book related to Ray Comfort’s Way of the Master website. Science Confirms the Bible also has a part in Scientific Facts in the Bible which mostly rehashes the same arguments but in a more mundane manner.

This particular article attempts to demonstrate the credibility of the Bible by finding passages that supposedly demonstrate foreknowledge of scientific facts. What actually happens is that Eternal Productions finds allegorical, metaphorical, and poetic phrases, and then interprets them to fit their point. All the parts of the Bible that are scientifically wrong? Ignored. An examination of every one of their claims follows.
