BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Aida Jury de Saad was born in Mexico at Morelia, Michoacán on March 27th, 1940.

She has a Master’s degree by the Research and Plastic Experimentation Center (INBA).

Her first studies were made with professors Ernesto Avelar and Melchor Peredo. In New York, she studied History of Art and Ancient Egyptian Art in the Modern Art Museum and the Metropolitan Art Museum.

Her work includes different topics, genders and techniques, and promotes the search for new forms, textures and plastic innovations, between the figurative, the expressionism and the abstraction.

Her individual shows go back to 1990 with “Time Trace”, at the Lebanese Center Art Gallery, Mexico city; and “Butterflies from Two Worlds-Neographic” (Mariposas de Dos Mundos-Neográfica) at National Printed Picture Museum, INBA, Mexico City in 1996.

Some of her more important shows are: UNAM Sciences and Arts University Museum, Alvar y Carrillo Gil Art Museum and Lebanese Center Art Gallery, all in Mexico City. She received Honorable Mention at the Municipal Cultural Olympics in Acapulco, and at the Drawing about Dance International Contests, organized by the UNAM Coreographic Workshop, Mexico City. She won First Award in the Casa de Las Américas and the Guerrero Tourism Ministry Painting Contest.

Awards and participant diplomas, as well as critics from expert professors, TV interviews and with important journalists, make her a fresh and adventurous painter with the will and maturity of creative talent.
