Puya raimondii is the largest species of bromeliad IN THE WORLD! This one is well over 20 feet tall (with me for comparison). Only 3 have ever flowered in cultivation, including this one. In the wild, they take 100 years to flower, but this one miraculously started blooming after only 24 years! Found high in the mountains of Peru, this species is known as the Queen of the Andes.
