“While the initial reason I chose mechanical engineering was because I like math and science, after two years of study I’ve grown to love the application of mechanics to solve problems. Most importantly, I can learn more about the field of aerospace, my desired future industry, while maintaining a broad enough major to be able to understand practically anything mechanical. Being that our society runs on so many different mechanical objects, with my major I can help the world.”

So many prospective engineers are male, but that doesn’t deter Danielle from joining their ranks. She’s studying Mechanical Engineering, and her studies have taken her to France, where she is studying abroad. Science and Technology are notorious for being male-dominated fields, but people like Danielle show that it’s open to anyone who enjoys it.
