Karinda Dobbins, Kyle Mizono, Duat Mai, Ivan Hernandez. Hosted by George Chen
Thursday Sept 5th
free 7:30 pm
George Chen has finally found a proper outlet for his brand of sarcasm and self-deprecation. As a promoter he has organized comedy shows on a moving bus, at a still-life drawing session, and inside a comic book store. Of these attempts to put on comedy in unlikely locations, the best thus far has been the weekly showcase Cynic Cave at Lost Weekend Video (organized with Kevin O'Shea). He also co-produces the monthly multimedia show Talkies. As a performer he has appeared at Holy Fuck, The Business, SFMoMA, Marin Headlands Center for the Arts, The Moth, and the Porchlight Storytelling Series.
Karinda Dobbins
Hailing from the Motor City and now living in the Bay Area, Karinda’s humor is sharp, distinctive and infused with hilarious social commentary. A proud associate of Jabari Davis & Associates and mentored by the legendary Tony Sparks, Karinda has appeared at dozens of venues throughout the SF Bay including The Purple Onion, San Francisco Punchline and Cobb’s. Karinda is a breakthrough talent with an unconventional perspective and colorful wit that engages and pulls you into her aggressively laid-back comedic style.

Kyle Mizono
Originally from San Francisco, Kyle Mizono is a comedian and stay-at-home roommate who lives in Los Angeles.
She recently performed at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and is a regular performer for DIS/ORIENT/ED COMEDY. Currently, Kyle is the Junior Producer of THE SUPER SERIOUS SHOW and is a frequent performer at various Los Angeles shows. She co-produced the weekly show, Sad People Talking, which, although it no longer exists, still lives on in peoples’ hearts. Oh and this…on a recent trip to her hometown, Kyle received a nice shout-out in THE SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE for her performance at the weekly show, Cynic Cave. Kyle also spent a brief but glorious stint as a writer for the Magic Bullet Blender.
Duat Mai
Duat Mai is an American stand up comedienne. He got his start in the San Francisco Bay Area performing at open mics and quickly moved up to showcases. He combines witty and interesting observations with a compelling delivery to hook the audiences from beginning to end. When people laugh they not only laugh but think, “that is true,” and “I have never looked at it that way.”
His comedy captivates all audiences from all racial background and all age ranges. After seeing one of his performances you will come away with a new way of thinking and start to spout out ideas you never thought was there.
Ivan Hernandez
Ivan Hernandez combines dryness and yelling to discuss the important things in life, like food, women, drugs, and comic books. Ever since beginning stand-up in his teens, his performances have been marked by a loud, sarcastic, self-deprecating wit. He’s performed at the 2011 and 2012 Bridgetown Comedy Festivals, the 2012 SF Sketchfest, the Florida Supercon comic book convention, the San Francisco Punchline, Litquake, the Purple Onion, and the first San Francisco Comedy and Burrito Festival. After a long stretch of living in Florida, he currently resides in San Francisco.
