Buddha Blends: Mango Maca Madness

It’s mango season, and that makes me so happy! Growing up, my family used to make an awesome drink called a “mango shake” which was full of mangoes, condensed milk and sugar (not the healthiest refreshment). My version uses young coconut to provide the creamy texture and flavour. It’s 100% dairy free, sugar free and cruelty free, with the nutritional benefits of maca to boot! Enjoy :)

This recipe serves 2.

Appliances you will need:

  • Blender (I use a vitamix which is a high speed blender)

Ingredients (I use good local organic produce - if you can, you should too!):

  • Water and flesh from 1 whole young coconut
  • 2 large mangoes peeled and seeded
  • 1 tbs maca powder
  • 2 cup ice

After preparing all of the above:

Place all ingredients in a blender along with a dash of good vibes and blend on high speed until smooth. Pour into tall glasses and enjoy!
