Japan hopes for ultrafast wireless for 2020 Olympics.

Japan's Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry are recruiting workers to work on a new terahertz based wireless network, in the hope of being able to deliver internet speeds of up to 100GB per second. That’s enough to download three HD movies in one second.

What’s not clear is how the system would work in normal devices, as presumably they would need a receiver capable of processing high frequency terahertz signals. It’s also not clear why someone at the Olympics in Tokyo would need to watch three HD movies a second!
