Mashup the Hedgehog - almost halfway, feedback?
While I’m still on this mashup tangent today, I may as well talk about my latest project.
I’ve been working on a new Sonic the Hedgehog-themed mashup album called Mashup the Hedgehog, which will have around 20 tracks. So far, I’ve made about 8 tracks, so I’m almost halfway.
I also have a couple of tracks which I’m going to put in a bonus album titled Mashup the Hedgehog: Special Stage. This one will have a couple of songs that aren’t quite up to par for the main album, as well as a mystery guest track…!
Here are the tracks I’ve made so far…
Track 6 of Mashup the Hedgehog is What Makes You Drop Gumballs, a mashup of One Direction’s mega-hit What Makes You Beautiful with the Gumball Bonus Stage theme from Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Like Chase Me Maybe, this mashup’s purpose is to have a recent pop song on the album. But I also needed more Genesis mashups, so I picked a track from one of my favorite games of all time.
A whole mashup medley of Sonic and visual novel songs! Try and guess them all, or check YouTube for the answers!
This is the last track (by me, anyway) from Mashup the Hedgehog: Special Stage!! This completes the secondary album, and the main album only has 4 tracks left!
We’re halfway through Mashup the Hedgehog! That’s ten whole songs so far, totaling 35:08!
You’d better brace yourself, cause the other half of the album is gonna be even more ambitious.

This mashup was actually produced for GilvaSunner’s channel, but it was very quickly nailed by a copyright claim. I guess I just bear that curse wherever I go, huh?

I really like this because when I first heard it I thought the Sonic R singer was Aya Hirano to begin with and it’s scary how much she sounds like Aya Hirano when pitched up that high

Here’s track 8 of Mashup the Hedgehog, The Boys’ Speed Highway.
If the title wasn’t obvious enough, it’s a mashup of the Generations version of Speed Highway by Cash Cash and the English version of The Boys by Girls’ Generation, aka SNSD.
Something I originally wanted to do was to also use the original Korean lyrics in combination with the English ones. But, such resources proved difficult to find/produce. Also, that logo was hella fun to make.
