Pregame Skate vs NYR: Still Room for Improvement

BOSTON, MA - By now, you’ve most likely seen that the Bruins have jumped out to an 8-1-1 record, their hottest 10-game start in franchise history - it has been much talked about and certainly won’t be wiped off the B’s record books anytime soon. But a strong start is only as good as a strong finish, especially in a 48-game season, and the Black & Gold will be the first to tell you that.

“We’re only 10 games in. We’ve got a long ways to go,” Shawn Thornton said following a Monday practice at TD Garden in preparation for the New York Rangers on Tuesday. “I think we’ve been pretty good, the whole time I’ve been here - and I know it sounds cliche, taking it one game at a time. But we’ve got the Rangers on Tuesday, and we just focus on the one game, hopefully win it, and move on to the next one.”

“We don’t really look much at the record right now, we just stay in the moment,” D-man Dennis Seideberg told media following today’s morning skate. “We like the way we’re playing right now and how we’ve played as a team so far. We want to keep going, it’s all about consistency, especially in a shortened season.”
