John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight has exceeded my every expectation, which is impressive considering how high they were to begin with. It’s like the first ten minutes of the Daily Show (i.e., the best part), but longer, deeper, and blunter. Razor-sharp, incredibly funny material about the most important issues of the day — this is a level of work every comedian should be aspiring to. I know I am.
