Recent televised appearances with Letterman and Jools Holland might suggest that Eagulls are all about showbiz, but one listen to storming single “Nerve Endings” will cut you up short on any misgivings. Anorak-wearing and stern-faced, this raucous Leeds five-piece isn’t here to muck about. For fans of Iceage and Savages, expect blistering, infectious post-punk delivered with plenty of attitude but certainly no jazz hands when Eagulls take Comet Club on Friday night. [KH]
