This is what Pelota looks like during free time! I stick her and her stuffed bear in a bush, which gives her a chance to explore the sights, sounds, smells and textures of the Costa Rican environment. The stuffed bear serves as her surrogate mom and gives her the confidence she needs to explore. She never strays too far from her “mom”. This free time also gives her a chance to practice climbing and hanging upside down. All skills that she would need for a life in the forest. Help me cheer Pelota on while she takes steps towards growing up into a wild sloth!
