In-flight comfort
Holiday season is coming. You might have plans to go abroad during this season.
As a jet-setter, my big interest is how to spend pleasantly on the plane. The seats are small and the leg room is cramped. How shall I enjoy under such a lovely situation? I always look for ways to help me enjoy a long flight as much as possible, such as bringing my kindle, thick leg warmers, a travel mug and teabags. Most importantly, I pay great attention how to avoid economy class syndrome.
Economy class syndrome is venous thromboembolism following air travel. The syndrome is a potentially life-threatening condition that occurs when blood clots form in deep veins, typically those in the legs. To avoid the symptom, I book an aisle seat whenever possible so I can get up easily to move about the plane, and also wear a pair of below-knee compression stocking and stretch my muscles. In addition to that, I bring our aluminium massage tool, collinette.
‘collinette’, meaning a small hill, is an Aluminium acupressure massager. This handheld massager is so small that I can bring on the plane. As you might know, acupressure can release muscular tension, promote circulation of both the blood, and enable the body to relax deeply. Whist watching films, I push my arm, legs and foot on the massage tool. The tool is the first item I put my carry-on bag when I pack for a trip.
Currently collinette is available at Haneda airport in Tokyo. If you want to add something which helps your comfortable flight, check it out!
