I don’t have a link, but I remember reading an interview that talked about Xavier abusing drugs but not in the class A substance sort of way and it talking a toll on him.

I remember that too. I don’t recall there ever being any discussion that whatever he was taking (drugs, serum, or otherwise) as being the reason why he was up and about, but it shouldn’t be dismissed as a possibility.

Whelp! Hanks’ super serum, telepathy, projection, whatevs, we might just have to wait for a full explanation.
