Home

People keep saying home, but there are a lot of victims who aren’t dutch and they aren’t even close to home. They need to be identified before returning to their families.

I feel for the families who have to wait so much longer before their loved ones are home.

no-one knows who was in those coffins. maybe they were all dutch, maybe they weren’t - that’s beside the point. This was an important move in the ‘investigation’ and not just for the people directly involved. Especially here in the Netherlands everyone seems to know someone (via via) who was on that flight. it’s a big impact on society.. and if the hundreds of people standing at the side of the road watching the hearses pass and feel better by ‘welcoming them home’ who cares about technicalities like what nationality these particular victims are?!

@bijou1986 It’s one step for them to have finally arrived, because it wasn’t even certain IF they would be returning home.

I’m just thinking about the people who cannot welcome them to their home yet, especially since identification can take a few weeks or months. I can’t imagine how devastating that must be.
