Why I chose to attend a historically black college- as a white person
When I was a senior in high school and started considering where I wanted to go to college, racial demographics were never a factor for me. I ended up at Howard University where the majority of students are black and I am among a small minority of white students.someone tell me how to feel about this
It’s kinda like bell hooks said lol I went to the jungle fucked all those black men and now I’m writing from the trenches. There are more books and articles written by white women like this one than there should be. Like that one white woman who went to Haiti with PTSD and had rough sex with Haitian men as a cure.
I feel like Black-eyed Susans at PWIs need to start writing articles about this, and let’s see how famous we get. Clearly, this well-meaning, heavenly-minded white woman made the “bold” choice of attending an HBCU—even in the midst of all that Blackness—so she must be celebrated for breaking the color line.
Clearly.
Black schools and Black students are so different from white schools and white students that research must be done and articles must be written.
Even articles by sophomore students…
