What you’re looking at here is my take on Jim Lee’s famous X-Men #1 cover from 1991.
Okay, well technically, this is my take on two of the five sections that make up that famous mega-gatefold cover, but you get the idea.
It always bugged me that Magneto wasn’t even looking at the X-Men, so it looked like they were all attacking him from behind (at worst) or the side (at best).
I decided to kind play that up and have the X-Men look a little crazed and have Magneto be more scared of them or perhaps aghast at their terrible manners.
This is original, one of a kind art (pencil and ink) on 9"x12" heavy bristol board and it actually looks better in person than this scan would have you believe!
