When I was at Fernhill Park a couple months back for a soccer game, I noticed that the playground had an old style metal merry-go-round. I made a mental note to bring the pinhole with me on my next visit because proper merry-go-rounds are going extinct. The one at the park down the street from our house was removed and I asked Portland Parks & Rec why and their response was it was too old and unsafe. I asked if they’d be replacing it and they said they would…with a new “safe” model. One of those models was already installed at the other park close to our house, and let me tell you - it is neither exciting nor fun. It took a couple tries - the weather wasn’t cooperating and we kept having gloriously sunny days where I’d only be able to get a two second exposure. On the last day of the soccer season I finally got a partly cloudy/mostly sunny day and then it was a game of “wait for a cloud and jump on to expose before the sun comes back.” Thankfully enough little clouds floated in front of the sun that I was able to shoot a roll. Finally got around to developing it and I’m happy with the results. Zero Image 6x9 | Kodak Ektar
