After a very long wait (and a bit of bitching into the aether on my part), my Astray is here and ready to build. The package was slightly crunched but I got a feeling that happened in transit once it got stateside. Everything’s there and in great condition so that’s always good.

The plan? After I finish this strip and the next, I’m going to bust out the paints and get to work on this kit. As I’ve mentioned before, this is going to go a little differently from my previous kits and it’ll sport a custom paint job.

    The colors so far:
    - A one-shot can of Testors’ “Star-Spangled Blue”. If the cap is to be believed, it’s a nice blue with a light metal flake to it. Would have dug mixing my own but my old Testors air brush kit is missing and getting a new one wouldn’t make sense for how rarely I’d use it.
    - A jar of Copper enamel for accents. It looked better placed next to the blue I picked than the Gold I found.
    - A jar of Silver for accents. This was as last minute a choice as you could get. The Silver looked less bright than the Aluminum paint.

Only thing I need to pick up now is a jar of metallic blue to touch up and match the rattle can’s color.

Let the Gunpla Building Begin! = D
