now that we have a proper view of tfone soundwave’s back (blokees soundwave figure),...
[Minor Edit: Tweaked some color issues.]
Had this idea brewing in my head for awhile now but it was only recently I stopped and drew it.
She’s a Rokurokubi - a lady yokai who is said to be able to stretch her neck out to great lengths (usually at night). The bit that caught my imagination was it seems there are some who try their damnedest to keep their true nature hidden and live like regular folks, only showing (and scaring) drunks so as to not let their secret out to those they love. Still others don’t know they are Rokurokubi, only knowing that they have strange dreams of seeing their houses at odd angles.
Honestly, that whole “wanting to live like a normal human” thing sounded right up my alley. Plus, it gave me a chance to play with something that wouldn’t necessarily be ultra creepy here in the US. Of all the strange, supernatural or demonic traits that have made it to these shores; infinitely stretchable neck (and ability to pull a scary face) just doesn’t get any play over here outside of a cartoon gag. Heck, it seems like it’d be more neat than anything. = P
