What better way to end the week than by taking some pictures of models in Paradise?

GAIA’s Special Visitors

Over the weekend GAIA had an amazing group of guests staying with us. The 10 contestants for Mr. Costa Rica were here to get some unique shots of themselves with our beautiful property as their backdrop. GAIA is filled with beautiful views and a unique setting of nature, which was perfectly displayed during their photo shoot. Our lush green scenery of the tropical rainforest was perfect for this shoot.

We were able to snap some behind the scene pictures and to see the process of creating the perfect shot. Media Personality Tony Daza was present and leading a directing hand during the shoot. We stopped to ask him how he felt about the shoot, “I think it’s great and I’m very excited about the outcome” replied Tony. Along with the photographers, Tony was offering poses for the models to do in order to get the perfect shot.

The initial set up was right by our beautiful multi-layered infinity pool with an amazing collection of lush greenery. This little deck of space provided the perfect set up for their casual wear. Most of the models did a variety of poses in this area, ranging from the close rainforest gardens to spinning around to have the cascading waterfalls of our infinity pool as their back ambiance.

The second area of shooting was in one of our lush green walkways to the pool. The green background made a great environment for the models to be captured in. With the natural beauty of the area plus the natural beauty of the models, it seemed like a perfect set.

During the shoot, it was evident that there was real passion and dedication involved by the entire crew and the candidates. When looking at a photo, it is not initially realized that with 1 good photo, there are 50 other photos similar to it. There were countless position changes, difference of opinions and a lot of rearranging. To take a photo was a much thought out process of lighting, backdrop, the colors used, the positioning of a simple leg and everything else shown. Everything was discussed and well-planned out before even one single picture was taken.

Pressure on Models handled with grace

The weather on the day of the shoot was hot and humid.  It was a typical day in the tropical rainforest.  However, that did not stop the eagerness of any of the ten gentleman to give their best. The atmosphere was filled with joy and beautiful smiles at all times. That is what makes a professional model. Each of them had to change continuously into different outfits, endured the makeup process and prepare their poses and facial expressions. Even the wondering eye of our guests at the hotel sneaking a peak, the models did not lose their focus, grace nor charm. In every pose, each model let their own personality shine through and made their time in front of the camera known.
