So who am I? I’m Laurel House - your QuickieChick, and I’m a real 34-year old chick. Yes, we all know what a “quickie” is, but this is more than that; it’s a lifestyle. Just as “quickies” are fun, exciting, sometimes unconventional, efficient, sexy, in the moment, and always (or almost always) instantly gratifying… so are LifeQuickies. These aren’t long overdrawn processes that require prep-work, expensive equipment, patience and perseverance. They are right now, getting the most out of every moment. Oh, and it’s all done on a budget (because you don’t need to be wined, dined and stay in a 5 star hotel to have a quickie… do you?). Really, there’s a Quickie solution for anything life throws your way. These are my personal DailyQuickies... because "I' don't have time" is no longer an excuse. There's always time for a Quickie...

Tweezing While I Work
When: Oct 20th- afternoon
Where: Sitting in my zero-gravity chair… which is where I work with my laptop on my lap.
Why: Calms the Mind & Removes Peach Fuzz
What: I admit… I am a touch OCD. One of the ways that my OCD expresses itself is with tweezing my peach fuzz. Fact is: most chicks have at least some peach fuzz above their lip. I don’t like it. But I also don’t like to wax because I have sensitive skin and get in-grown hairs (gross but true). Instead, I also have tweezers next to me when I type so that whenever I have a brain freeze or writer’s block moment, I can escape my thoughts on the page and do something else. I also tweeze when I’m on a conference call, and even in the car at stop lights- but that’s different… you have the best natural light in the car and can spot even the tiniest rogue hair sprouting from your eyebrow arch- perfect opportunity to pluck! It’s kind of like how some chicks twirl their hair around their finger, bite their nails, or break split ends off their hair. But my tweezing obsession is also a great form of multitasking AND money-saving. And it’s my DailyQuickie today.
