scrolling down my tumblr feed this afternoon, this photo from once wed made me pause. it’s lovely, isn’t it?
just a tip- my last photography instructor said to pay close attention to this pause…when a photo captures your attention, if only for a few milliseconds. this is especially true when you’re editing your own work. when you’ve uploaded your photos, your best images are the ones that will make you slow down and/or linger a bit longer. sometimes you won’t even realize you’re doing it until you’re ready to move on to the next image. and most times you won’t be able to explain why you paused. don’t waste your time scrolling through the upload, searching for the perfect composition/capture; give heed to the breaks, where you find yourself resting…even if it’s on an “imperfect” photo, one that’s cropped incorrectly, or too light/dark, etc. it might just be your best work yet.
