God is calling for us to give him or best. But sometimes we get worried about ourselves and become selfish. We begin to hold back from God so that we may live in our own comfort. God is our creator and our Lord who can provide more than enough, more than we could ever imagine. He can give us true comfort but when we are giving him our second best we are showing that we would rather serve ourselves instead of him. We make ourselves a god over God. God deserves our best and is righteous in blessing those who bless him. He has given the commandments and he must be just and cannot bless those who ignore them. When we make ourselves a god we are committing idolatry. Let’s move on from this worldly mindset and begin giving God our best. Obedience is our spiritual act of worship so let’s be so. Living dead, laying down our lives, putting God first, they all mean that in everything you do you are doing your best to give God the glory and not holding anything back. God is greater than I so I will do anything and everything he asks me to, no exceptions. You won’t be perfect at it but God looks at effort not efficiency. Just be willing and try, God will give you the strength and have to do the rest.
