Pattern Testing: Laurie the Duckie
I stumbled upon a pattern testing event on facebook which led me to this pattern testing group by Harugurumi. It was the perfect timing for me to join her next pattern testing event for this duckie called Laurie. :)
It has been really fun because I felt like we were all making them together and it was great talking to other people and getting feedback. :)
Please “Like/heart” if you think she’s oh so kawaii/cute. :)
Just the duckie. I added a bow instead of hair on top of her head.
Duckie with unchanged hood.
I added one row of reverse single crochet to the edge of her hood.
Duckie all dressed up with her string of pearls and little ruffle skirt but no where to go…
Hook: 4.25 mm
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft
Findings: 12mm safety eyes [I added fake eyelashes and eyebrows.]
Bow: I was tying a bow using 2 pieces of yarn together and it accidentally came out with one loop bigger than the other loop
Pattern by: Harugurumi
Adjustment to the pattern: I used the adjusted, smaller beak. And I edged the hood on the cape with a row of crab stitch/reverse single crochet.
Ruffle Skirt pattern: Instead of chaining, I used a foundation single crochet to make the base of the ruffle. I used the ruffle from this hat to make the skirt.
Just a couple more pictures of this adorable duckie. :)
Haruki gave me permission to giveaway this cute finished duckie to help my blogs and facebook page gain an audience. So, please stay tuned, Giveaway will be happening sometime next week. :)
