Not a lot stood out to me at this years event. Lots of TV’s, peripherals stating they would be the next “3D experience” or “virtual experience”. Mostly just the same ol’ from companies I don’t really care about. Here are (the only) three things that caught my attention…

1. Lenovo Table PC [Mashable]
This is the only product that could make me purchase a Windows PC. I love the idea of having a fully intractable device that can be used for different purposes for different means. Table, tablet, computer, boardgames, canvas…looks fun!

2. Piston [IGN video]
I’m kind of sad that this only got the spotlight because it ended up NOT being something affiliated with Valve (and the rumored “steambox” console they’re working on).

3. MS Illumiroom [IGN video]
I agree entirely with IGN critics. I think this is a great idea for ambience, but hate the idea of having my game extend beyond the screen. The ONLY way I’d find that practical is if you’re entire room was devoted to gaming…meaning…no bookshelves, or other surfaces for the “screen” to get messed up on. But then at that point, why not just strap on a VR helmet?
