The subject for Cuteify NHL Mascots project for today is the Detroit Red Wings’ mascot, Al the Octopus.

Now, Al is a special case for a mascot – he doesn’t walk around or do birthday parties or anything like that. He just hangs out in the rafters of Joe Louis Arena during the playoffs, looking threatening. Therefore, all I really needed to do was create a simple octopus design which still cracks me up every time I look at it.
