Nicholas Kirkwood has arrived — in New York, that is. The British designer opened his first U.S. store last Friday, on Washington Street in the Meatpacking District. The 1,500-sq.-ft. space has a minimalist look, with an oversized circular skylight and garden views. Tea on the patio, anyone? The store, with a gallery-like setting that mirrors Kirkwood’s London boutique, will showcase the designer’s own collection, as well as pieces from his collaborations with Peter Pilotto, Erdem and Prabal Gurung.
