sandyfarquhar:

in response to the news that Germaine Greer doesn’t think Sister Wendy can possibly talk about sexuality in art because she’s celibate:

“Why does she think that anybody should not delight in the creative work of God?…to me, it’s very illogical. God made the body and this suggests that sort of God made mistakes about certain parts of the body, that…unfortunately, he’s done these shameful things and we must do our best to cover them up. This is not…this is not the faith. The faith is that God looked at his creation and thought it was good, thought it was beautiful. We’re made in the image of God. And there is nothing, nothing amiss in any part of the human body…There’s something to me far more salacious about all these sniggers, and criticisms, than just a….a Christian delight in God’s skill.”

oh, my. This post is beauty.
