Dear Jetsetter Members,

Almost three weeks after Hurricane Sandy swept through the Eastern Seaboard, life is back to normal for the majority of New Yorkers. Visit the city this weekend and you’ll find SoHo’s boutiques full of shoppers, Bryant Park’s ice rink screeching with skaters and the Christmas tree twinkling at Rockefeller Center.

But many communities on the peripheries of New York’s five boroughs and across the Hudson River in New Jersey were devastated by the storm and remain crippled. These neighborhoods might not be at the top of your list when you visit New York, but they’re as much a part of its DNA as Times Square and Central Park. And they need our help.

That’s why now through December 15, Jetsetter will donate $25 to New York Cares for every New York hotel stay our members book. Since the late 80s, this organization has been the Big Apple’s go-to source for volunteers, running programs for more than 1,300 nonprofits, city agencies and public schools. They’ve ramped up their efforts in Sandy’s aftermath, starting their 24th annual coat drive early and shepherding volunteers and funds to the shelters, soup kitchens and food banks serving storm victims in the neighborhoods that need them most.

We know our members heart New York, and the city needs you now more than ever. Come and show her some love.

Sincerely,

Rob Deeming, GM
