REEL BIG FISH – I DARE YOU TO BREAK MY HEART

Californian ska-punk sextet Reel Big Fish hit Colchester Arts Centre next Tuesday, 14th August, so to get you in the mood, here’s the video for a track from their new album, Candy Coated Fury.

Candy Coated Fury – which has been received rather well by people who like that sort of thing – is the band’s seventh studio album, their first in five years, was apparently almost called Honk If You’re Horny and features a ska-punk reworking of British indie band The Wonder Stuff’s 1989 hit Don’t Let Me Down Gently (for comparison, you can see the original version “live” on Top Of The Pops right here).

According to RBF’s frontman and songwriter Aaron Bennett, I Dare You To Break My Heart was influenced by The Darkness and sounds like Kiss.  We’ll leave you to judge for yourselves whether you can hear traces of either.

Tickets for Tuesday’s gig are here; for more insights on what Reel Big Fish think they sound like, head over to www.reel-big-fish.com

About

B-Side is an independent music publication based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, UK, which exists to reflect, promote, support and document East Anglia's DIY music and arts scene.

We stand in awe of all the brilliant stuff that happens purely because people are passionate, amazing and batshit crazy enough to will it into being. We believe in the power that mankind's propensity for artistic folly has to change, enrich and define people's lives.

If you want to be involved, if you have something to say, we want to hear from you, because your voice matters. Get in contact.
