Thoughts on how to save Zero Escape

As I’ve mentioned earlier today, we have a podcast episode coming up in which we talk a lot about Danganronpa and the future of Zero Escape, but until we put that out, you can read this great piece from TinyCast member Christian Nutt about how series director Kotaro Uchikoshi can finish this trilogy.

Uchikoshi admitted last week that he’s having difficulty getting development approved for the next Zero Escape game due to poor domestic sales for the past two releases. So Christian detailed several options Uchikoshi can pursue to make sure he completes the trilogy: stripping down production values, finding partners in the West to launch a Kickstarter (Aksys?), building more interest for the series by releasing entries to PC, and other ideas.

Many won’t like the idea, but paring the budget and production values makes sense, considering how expensive Virtue’s Last Reward likely became compared to 999, what with its 3D models and voice acting. Check out Christian’s blog post to see what I mean.
