You made it to 25 years old (in the U.S.). With some nudging from Game & Watch, you kicked off an entire line of Nintendo portables. You made Tiny Cartridge possible. You gave us the best Zelda. You popularized chiptunes. You are awesome.
I should have prepared a better image or a post, but I forgot about the system’s North American launch anniversary, so this is what we have. I’m tweeting a bunch of throwback Game Boy photos, though, and I have a number of posts that have sat in my Tumblr Likes for years, which I’ll get around to sharing over the next few days.
