Multiplayer briefly shown in Shiren 5
Around the 1:05 mark, you can see two Shirens working together and fighting each other. Also, LOL at the new pretty boy companion around 00:32, Chunsoft’s attempt to appeal to Bishonen fans for some reason. It’s a game for people who want to see beautiful men die in caves!
Multiplayer looks local wireless-only – which makes sense, as each move is critical, and planning your turns probably works best with your partner closeby – so if this ever comes to America, you’ll likely never get to try it out with anyone. Not that this will ever release in the U.S…
It’s nice to see Shiren 5 having something special over previous entries, instead of it being just another game churned out from Chunsoft’s Mystery Dungeon Generator:
The roguelike releases in Japan on December 9th and will have an expensive “DX Pack”, priced at ¥7,990 ($97). For that, you’ll receive a limited edition OST with a neat DS-like case, eight-page booklet charting the Shiren series’ history, a 2011 desktop calendar featuring artwork from the game, a porcelain teacup, and a small cotton towel:
