Nintendo Kirby-fied Dragon Quest IX’s North American box, replacing all the cheer from the original cover with scowls and close-lipped smiles (click for a larger image).
On the JP packaging, everyone is shown rejoicing, happy to just be included in such an awesome game. Even the castle guards are visible in the background, waving their spears in the air almost as if they just didn’t care:
