Check this interview he did for 294 Records:

How long have you been involved with music?

Music has always been part of my life, I started buying records from a very young age & by the time I was 13 years old I had persuaded my dad to buy me a couple of belt drive turntables with no pitch control & a really dodgy mixer. I was involved with Glasgow Based Radio Magnetic for a number of years, hosting a show weekly Monday nights. I progressed on from there into production & had my first release with Control Recordings in 2007. Since then I haven’t looked back production wise & as a result I was able to set up my label Flatpack Traxx. For the last 5 or so years I have been involved with Chicago House FM, hosting the Flatpack show weekly Mondays.

Tell us about your release on 294 Records

The release consists of 2 tracks both of which take influences from the disco era. ‘What can I do’ is a nice string laden cut with tough skippy beats that kind of takes you on a journey. ‘Think about it’ is more of a stomping track, with some nice funky bass licks & some 80’s style synth stabs. Both of the tracks have a summer vibe about them. So I am looking forward to the release.

Next releases?

There are a few things in the pipeline from me, I remixed a track ‘Still Running’ from a spanish band called EBO which has recently been picked up by Dikso recordings. I did a track ‘Make Music’ for an Italian label Wound Musik who I remixed for last year. There’s a 3 track EP coming out on a new label based in the UK called Under No Illusion & a few remixes I did for Hardmix. I am also working on a track right now with another UK based producer David Glass for San Francisco based The Bomb Digital.

Next tour or plans for the summer?

I’m just recently, back from a tour of the US, which was my third time out there in the last year or so. It was good to get out there & come back feeling fresh ready for the summer. I’ll be playing in Antrim again this July, for the Mish Mash birthday party. I was over in October last year & it was a lot of fun. So I am really looking forward to that.

The summer is generally quite a busy time for me in the studio. I’ll be getting my head down & working on some new material for Flatpack Traxx, looking to do some collaboration work with some other producers. But I would love to work on an album at some point this year. So who knows?

Your Dj gear?

I have 2 Technics 1210’s, Pioneer DJM 600 & 2 Pioneer CDJ800’s plus a set of Technics RP1210 headphones. In my studio set up I have just upgraded to Ableton Live 9 & use some hardware, Microkorg which I run through a small Behringer desk & an Akai MPD32 midi controller. I also have a pair of Alesis M1 Active 520 Monitors, & an Edirol UA 25 soundcard.
