Tonight’s WTF Moment: Remember the time that ABC launched a Fawlty Towers ripoff with Bea Arthur?
I know that I don’t, and I was definitely alive and aware of things in 1983. The sitcom Amanda’s by the Sea was an Americanized version of Fawlty Towers, with Bea Arthur taking the place of both Basil Fawlty and his wife Sybil. 13 episodes were filmed, but only 10 were ever shown. All 13 episodes are available on Youtube.
