IHC NYC meetup tomorrow. Here are the details.
So if you’re going to be in NYC tomorrow, here are the details of the 2012 IHC NYC meetup. Sorry I’m posting this late, but I’ve had a nasty cold the past couple days.
Here are the details, from the meetup organizer HDCase:
Alright friends, the time has come. So here’s the plan: We meet up on the steps of the NY Public Library (near Bryant Park, on 5th Avenue between 40th and 42nd) at 2PM on Saturday April 21. For those of you uneasy with the trains I would just go to Grand Central Station and walk a couple blocks. Otherwise, look it up, we’re all Internet nerds, I know you can figure it out. From there we shall walk north through Times Square (unless we’ve all seen it and as a New Yorker I would rather extract my own eye than go to Times Square unless I’m showing it to a newcomer). We’ll head through Central Park, and grab some drinks somewhere and hit up the Natural History Museum.
Any requested detours will be thoroughly considered. After that, we’ll hop on the subway and go to my old stomping grounds of the East Village and be treated to the sights and sounds of St. Mark’s Place. The birthplace of Punk and today’s Little Tokyo, we’ll get some food somewhere and then head over to Grassroots Tavern for the cheapest drinks in Manhattan. Then, we’ll see how drunk we are and go from there. I live in Brooklyn and would happily take anyone that wants to come out for a drink in my ‘hood (Clinton Hill/Ft. Greene).
The weather looks like it’ll be good. 72F with some rain in the evening (maybe). It’s been pollen-hell here recently so if you have allergies… do something about it. I just sneeze a lot. I’ll be at the Library steps at 1:45PM wearing a brown plaid work shirt, grey shorts, and bright blue sneakers. I have a lot of tattoos and will probably be smoking. I suggest you dress for walking and bring a small umbrella and hoodie/jacket as it will get colder later and might rain. I don’t know how much you guys drink/eat, but I’m budgeting $100 for this trip, so it’s up to you.
