Crazy guy dresses as a terrorist carrying an RPG around Phoenix to test local police reaction time
Shortly after the mass shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, a man named Michael David Turley decided to send his 16 year old nephew walking around Phoenix dressed as a terrorist, carrying a fake RPG launcher… you know, because people in Arizona are fucking nuts and this guy just was doing a public service by testing police reaction time.
Michael David Turley, 39, of Phoenix, Arizona, uploaded footage of the July 28 stunt on YouTube in which he explains how he wanted to test how long it took local police to react just days after the Batman shooting in Aurora, Colorado.
Police were bombarded with 911 calls from motorists who spotted the apparently armed 16-year-old on the street, and said they responded one minute after they first received reports.
At the time, Phoenix PD made no arrests, because the weapon was harmless and they were told it was for a movie. So the cops were all like “Dur okay sure. Carry on scaring the shit out of people.”
It wasn’t until a few weeks later, when Turley uploaded a video of the incident to YouTube that police then arrested him for being a public jackass.
