The return of Super Frank, but only to spoil our party.

A long trip to the Etihad but an enjoyable day. The atmosphere inside the ground was great, City had most of the possession and chances in the first half but the score remained 0-0 at half time.

On 63 minutes Jose replaced Ramires and Willian with Schurrle and Mikel. 3 minutes later a second yellow for Zabaleta saw him sent off, Costa also getting a yellow in the incident. But 5 minutes after we made the breakthrough when Schurrle gratefully tucked away Hazard’s cross following a breakaway move. 0-1

With 12 minutes to play we saw the return of Frank Lampard, to applause from both sets of fans. But it wasn’t long before he made an impact on the game with a low shot in the bottom corner of the goal, beating Courtois. 1-1

Diego Costa was immediately replaced by Didier Drogba, but the score stayed the same and a point a piece. A nice gesture at the end when Frank made his way to the Chelsea fans and acknowledged our support.

Still top of the early league, 3 points clear of Southampton in 2nd.
