this is a post about how much i love russell crowe when javert sings “SHOOT ME NOW OR SHOOT ME LATER” i just welp

I know his performance has been much maligned, but I think it's unwarranted  I think he was a great Javert if you saw the movie and didn’t just listen to the soundtrack. I especially think the “shoot me now or shoot me later" scene was fantastic. Some of his best vocal work in the movie. The scene can come off as very sing-songy in the musical, but let’s face it, Javert was just captured – there needs to be a sense of defiance, half-crazed almost mockery and Crowe captured that – spot on.
