So Husband and I slowly started watching Arrow a couple weeks back. Now that we’re a few episodes in, and it’s starting to pick up a bit, I thought it might be fun to blog my thoughts as I watch each one.
I know that some of you have seen it and some have not but want to, so…
Thank you! From the little I’ve seen of her so far, Felicity is totally the kind of person I would be good friends in real life. She’s so lovably dorky. And compared to some of the rather wooden performances some of the other cast members have given so far, she feels so bright and alive, which I love. This makes me very excited that we’ll be seeing more or her in episodes to come!
And with the spoilers, I’m just tagging it with that mostly because I have a couple friends who are also thinking about starting to watch the show, even though the episodes are old. I’m trying to be nice for their sake. We’ll see how long that lasts, hehe.
Stephen Amell indeed got some criticism at first for “wooden” performances. But obviously in your case, that wasn’t enough to make you quit watching, so that’s good. Regarding that opinion, consider everything Oliver had been through. Being stranded for 5 years of what’s essentially torture would be enough to dull anyone’s emotions. If his personality seems wooden right now, it’s because that’s exactly what it’s supposed to be.
That said, he very slowly loosens up, especially after certain events, and especially after the influence of someone who I won’t name since you want to avoid spoilers. ;)
